Schnellzuglokomotive 01 220 als technisches Denkmal im mittelfränkischen Landkreis Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen – Treuchtlingen

Mit der Fabriknummer 23468 wurde die BR 01 1937 vom Lokomotivenhersteller Henschel & Sohn
für die Deutschen Reichsbahn gebaut.
1957 erhielt die Lokomotive einen Neubaukessel und Witte-Windleitbleche.
1968 wurde sie aus dem aktiven Bestand ausgesondert.
Die Maschine hatte bis dahin eine Laufleistung von rund 4,5 Millionen Kilometern.

With the factory number 23468 the BR 01 1937 was purchased from the locomotive manufacturer Henschel & Sohn
for the Deutsche Reichsbahn.
In 1957 the locomotive was fitted with a new boiler and Witte smoke deflectors.
In 1968 it was removed from the active stock.
By then the machine had a mileage of around 2.8 million miles.
