50 Jahre LGB / 50 years LGB
Vor genau 50 Jahren stellten Eberhard und Wolfgang Richter auf der Spielwarenmesse 1968 eine revolutionäre Weltneuheit vor –
eine Modellbahn für drinnen und draußen.
Ob im warmen Hobbykeller oder aber draußen bei Schnee und Eis, die LGB hält bis heute diesen Ansprüchen stand und gilt nach wie vor als eine äußerst robuste Modelleisenbahn.
Während nunmehr 50 Jahren prägt eine kleine Dampflokomotive – die Stainz – das Logo von LGB und genießt damit Weltruf.
Anno 1968 haben Eberhard und Wolfgang Richter vermutlich nicht mit diesem enormen Erfolg gerechnet,
der LGB in den vergangenen 50 Jahren verdient zugesprochen wurde.
LGB ist und bleibt die erste Modellbahn für drinnen und draußen – auch nach 50 Jahren gilt dieser Leitsatz.
50 Jahre, oder aber ein halbes Jahrhundert ist die LGB nun alt,
diesen großen Geburtstag wollen wir gemeinsam mit unseren Fans und der LGB-Familie, wie sie über nunmehr 50 Jahre zusammengewachsen ist, feiern.

Fifty years ago, Eberhard and Wolfgang Richter presented a revolutionary new item at the 1968 Toy Fair –
model trains for indoors and outdoors.
Whether it was in a warm hobby room in the basement or outdoors with snow and ice, LGB still stands up to these challenges and is still considered an extremely sturdy model train system.
For 50 years now, a small steam locomotive – the Stainz – has typified the LGB logo and has thereby enjoyed world renown.
In 1968, Eberhard and Wolfgang Richter probably did not expect the enormous success that LGB was adjudged to have earned in the last 50 years.
LGB is and remains the first model train system for indoors and outdoors – this slogan still applies even after 50 years.
Fifty years, or half a century is the current age of LGB. We want to celebrate this great birthday jointly with our fans and the LGB family as they have grown together over 50 years.
